Marklund adds to line-up for annual September Fest

Kite stunts, kids’ salon and wall climbing top list

Marklund has added to the schedule of activities for its annual September Fest to be held 3 - 10 p.m. at Marklund at Mill Creek, 1 South 450 Wyatt Dr., Geneva. New all-day activities include:

Chicago Kite demonstrations: Demos and stunts with kites as large as 90 feet will fill the sky, provided by Chicago Kite, Sparkling Kite Entertainment . Event-goers will be able to participate in learn-to-fly lessons, kite-making workshops, single-line flying and night-flying.

“Makeovers” for girls and boys: Snip ‘N Doodles, Geneva’s only full-service salon for kids, will sponsor boys’ makeovers including fake tattoos and spiked hair, and girls’ makeovers including hair-braiding, make-up and manicures.

Demos and stunts with kites as large as 90 feet will fill the sky at Marklund's September Fest.



Meet and greet with local celebrities… such as the Geneva firefighters, where kids can take a picture on the fire truck; Ronald McDonald; the Kane County Cougars mascot;

Climbing wall and a giant slide will let kids explore new heights.

A puppet tent will keep little ones entertained with plenty of shows.

For kids and adults, a palm reader will be “on hand” to tell of good fortunes.

New food vendors have been added as well, including Taylor Street Pizza, Marklund’s own food booth, True Cuisine, Culvers Ice Cream, China Garden, KC's Weenie Wagon and Old Time Snackery.

Admission to the fest is free and open to all ages;
